Drawing doesn't come easily to me. In fact, it's very difficult. I don't make images of myself usually, this is a rare self portrait.

About Angelina Tamez
"Take a dive into my curious mind." Angelina is a Chicagoland native. She credits her military experience for her love of cultural diversity and inclination to explore, which is reflected in her uncommon mixed media art. Her portfolio speaks for itself with dynamic digitals, exploratory acrylics, and nature photography that celebrates her inner free spirit. Artful vision has always been a significant part of Angelina's life, but serious focus on her art began in 2007 when she started marketing and exhibiting publicly. She has quickly gained the respect of peers, having established relationships with publishers, authors, print media, designers, as well as retail and decor venues. All work in this gallery is the original work of Angelina...

Of course being depressed is not wonderful, but as an artist to be able to capture that in a painting, a film or sculpture . . . that is where the wonderful lies!:)
Angelina Tamez replied:
Of course....=) I know what you meant. What I was saying is, I would much rather convey happy and uplifting emotions than sad or depressing ones. However, I do work through all emotions, so the result is that many feelings are shown throughout my work. =)

Dear Angelina . . . depressing is wonderful! Probably the single most expressed emotion we have as human beings is sadness. And to be gifted enough to be able to express such a deep emotion . . . there are not words enough of gratitude that could be found for possessing such a gift! Beautifully done Angelina!
Angelina Tamez replied:
Thank you so much Rachel. I don't think depressing is wonderful...but artistically, I find it freeing to work through all emotions. We are capable of so many feelings...and I am glad you can see what I am expressing in my work. Thank you.
