I remember as a kid going to a local animal zoo and seeing these giant tortoises crawling around in the dirt/sand outside. Thought they were the coolest thing ever :)

I continue to see the zoo as a kind of magic...seeing things I would not normally be able to see. I was always fascinated by the monkeys. how they play, the social order. I also love penguins...they are fantastic to watch. I have monkeys and penguins in this series too. I never want to lose the magic of being awed by amazing things.
